Tory Bryant- The Clark McDonald Apprentice of the Year.
Tory Bryant being awarded his check by Mrs. Bonnie McDonald and the Honorable Melody Wilkinson. Congratulations!
Local 429, family fun night was held on December 13, 2022. It was a wonderful finish to a great year. Every year during our December meeting we name one hard-working apprentice, The Clark McDonald Apprentice of the Year. The deserving apprentice is awarded a check for all their efforts.
This award was created after the passing of Mr. Clark McDonald in 2013. Every year, an apprentice is chosen that demonstrates leadership and a drive to learn.
This year the award was presented to Fer-Tory Bryant (Tory). Tory became a member of Local 429 a little over a year ago when he started working a Cleanroom job with PCI and has been with them ever since. Tory was selected because he has demonstrated leadership qualities on and off the job site, as well as in the classroom.
In addition to the award, Mrs. Bonnie McDonald and the Honorable Melody Wilkinson present the member with a matching check. “Being a Union Carpenter and pushing the apprenticeship was always such a passion for my dad” says Melody Wilkinson. “We are grateful the spirit of apprenticeship has been carried on in his name with such a special gesture. It’s such an honor for us to be a part of it.”
Thank you to all the members who came out and supported our local! Great things are happening in Texas!!
