In Amarillo, Texas, EST Engels and Council Representative John Roberts were in attendance to congratulate 5 high school seniors on their commitment to join the Apprenticeship.
Carpentry students graduating from the AmTech Career Academy signed letters of intent to join the Carpenters Union at an event hosted by Workforce Solutions Panhandle. The celebration recognized high school students who earned an industry-recognized certification in Carpentry. All 5 students were hired by local union contractors; Wiley Hicks Jr, Inc., Tri-State General Contractors, & Western Builders, with leaders in attendance to welcome graduates to their team.
AmTech's Carpentry Pathway provides a secondary Career and Technical Education where young professionals practice their skills with technology and equipment one would find in an industry setting. Their Carpentry program utilizes our pre-apprenticeship curriculum, Career Connections, teaching students how to construct, install, & repair structures and fixtures made of wood, such as concrete forms.
