Terry Darling Arthur “Boo Boo” Terry Darling, Jr.
A dedicated carpenter and organizer during his 44 years with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. His passing on January 15, 2023, at the age of 63, is a great loss to all of us.
Brother Darling joined the UBC in 1978. After graduating from the apprenticeship, Terry began working at Union Carbide, as a steward and general foreman. In 1998, Brother Darling became the Director of Organizing for the Texas Carpenters Regional Council. In 2005, he relocated to work with the Florida Carpenters Regional Council. In 2010, Brother Darling acquired a position with the UBC as an International Representative in organizing. Following that position, Brother Darling worked with contractors in Florida until joining the Central South Carpenters Regional Council staff in 2017, working as a regional director until his passing.
Terry’s passion and dedication to elevating the lives of all carpenters was evident through his contribution to many successful organizing campaigns across multiple states. He really had a knack for creating a true partnership between the Union and employers.
Terry Darling was a great Carpenter and an important part of our brotherhood. His presence is greatly missed.
